Abel Tasman National Park is located between Golden Bay and Tasman Bay at the north end of the South Island. It is the smallest national park in New Zealand but it certainly packs a punch. Whilst visiting we took a short ferry ride from one side to the other. The ferry was nice but no where near as good as walking the coast track. You have more time to take in the beauty when walking and you discover so much more. We reccomend walking one way and catching the ferry back
