Shopping

Lets get one thing straight here, eating in New Zealand is relatively expensive so you are going to want to know the cheap options from time to time. There is 3 main supermarkets in the country, battling it out you have 'New World', 'Countdown' and 'Pak n Save'. New World tends to be the most expensive but can have some classy foods, Countdown is the middle of the road place and Pak n Save can be slightly cheaper but the over all shopping experience isn't the best, it always seems to be busy and your food is put directly into the trolley and not a bag.

Eating Out

Eating out can be pricey with many meals ranging from $15 - $30, a peruse on 'Groupon' and 'Grab One' will always get you a great deal. For those on a real tight budget and not too bothered about there well being there is a few pretty cheap takeaway options, Dominoes and Pizza Hut have $5 value pizzas and they are pretty satisfying. There is so many burger joints too, Mcdonalds, Burger King, Wendy's and Carl Jnr's all have cheap deals. $7 will get you a triple cheeseburger and chips at Macca's. For a more quality burger go to Burger Fuel or Murder Burger, they are definately an upgrade, unfortanately they can only be found around Auckland.
