Akaroa is a small town on Banks Peninsula in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand. We drove there from Christchurch which is 1 hour 20 mins away across lush countryside. The area isn’t a massive tourist attraction making it a perfect place to get away from all the hustle and bustle. During our visit we enjoyed fish ‘n’ chips whilst baking in the summer sun and took a brisk walk to the local light house.
