The Journey - New Zealand
Mt Cook & Glaciers
Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand and stands at 3,724 metres (12,218 feet). It is located in the Southern Alps of the South Island of New Zealand. As expected it is a popular hot spot for tourists. We both walked the Hooker Valley track which is a 3 hour return walk over swing bridges and flat gravel terrain. It is an easy walk and the views are incredible.

Franz Josef Glacier at 12km long is a major glacier in New Zealand. It is Located in The Westland Tai Poutini National Park on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. The glacier descends from the Southern Alps to less than 300 metres (980 ft) above sea level. Guided trips along the magnificent moving block of ice can be arranged.

Named after the former Prime Minister Sir William Fox, Fox Glacier at 13km long is also situated in Westland Tai Poutini National Park. Like nearby Franz Josef Glacier, it is one of the most accessible glaciers in the world, with its terminal face an easy walk from Fox Glacier village/Weheka. As expected the two are major tourist attractions.
