Wanaka is a popular ski and summer resort town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. With its lake and mountain views Wanaka has become a popular tourist resort, considered less commercialised than Queenstown. Whilst visiting we climbed Mt Iron which is a short and fairly steep walk to the top and the views are magnificent. We also had a tour along Lake Wanaka in a jet boat, that was pretty fun! A good place to go on a night time is the local cinema, it isn't like your average cinema, it has a quirky vibe about it. We watched a movie whilst laying back on a sofa, it felt rather homely. On the front row is a dentist chair you can sit on, it is very bizzare yet interesting.
